ANTH 2142
Indigenous Peoples and Anthropology in Canada
Students will inquire into the diversity of Indigenous Peoples and cultures across what is now Canada. Through examining ethnographic research done at different times and in different places, and considering it in relationship to historical and contemporary Indigenous perspectives, students will develop their understandings of both Indigenous communities and ethnographic research. They will also engage with contemporary Indigenous cultural expressions and activism in the contexts of decolonization, linguistic and cultural revitalization, and reconciliation.
